Meet nolan

Nolan Kordsmeier is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (# 8485-C), psychotherapist, and founder of Little Rock Therapy Collective. He earned his master's degree in social work from University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a bachelor’s degree in literature and philosophy from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. He utilizes a variety of effective treatments, including Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Compassion-focused Therapy. Nolan's areas of practice include anxiety, OCD, panic, depression, bipolar, PTSD, substance use, self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues, life transitions, and perfectionism. He offers an altogether unique experience in psychotherapy – one that is engaging and interactive. Nolan’s mission as a therapist is to help people live more meaningful lives by fostering personal growth via mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion.

Nolan has a diverse clinical background working with acute, chronic, and severe mental illness in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. His extensive experience ranges from residential treatment, case management, crisis intervention, group treatment, and individual therapy. Nolan has partnered with UAMS PRI to administer numerous research studies to evaluate treatment and prevention strategies for suicidal ideation and its relationship to physical pain.

Prior to working as a mental health counselor, Nolan was head scholastic chess coach and program director for the National Scholastic Chess Foundation in New York. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Nolan pursued his passion for chess in education by teaching in New York public schools and coaching students to compete in national competitions. Nolan’s experience inspiring his students and building supportive relationships with families and communities helped him discover his passion for providing guidance and assistance to those most in need.
