MEET MICHELLE

Michelle is a Licensed Certified Social Worker and worked as a Behavioral Counselor at the May Institute for Autism in Massachusetts. Michelle is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Michelle is originally from the Southwest and has resided in Little Rock for 10 years. Michelle received her Master of Social Work from Boston University with a Group Work Specialization. She has implemented Applied Behavior Analysis as a Behavioral Counselor for 12 years prior to becoming an LCSW. Michelle has experience working at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at both the Child Study Center and Children’s Diagnostic Unit. She is certified from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. Michelle is also a certified Daring Way© Instructor, a program on increasing resiliency. Michelle has 22 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children on the autism spectrum. Her primary focus is on individual and group therapy with ages approximately eight through adulthood. Her varied experiences make her adept at working with a range of issues with children, teens, and adults. She believes that utilizing evidence-based treatments and maintaining best-practice standards are paramount when serving clients. Michelle is also open to clients who choose to include spirituality as a large focus of their therapeutic journey.
