David Namir has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (licensed in Arkansas #5073-C) since 2011.  While working for 15 years in the non-profit sector David became passionate about helping others, which is when he made the decision to work with clients as a social worker.  It was then that he returned to school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Social Work and earned his Master of Social Work degree.

David began his social work career working with children at Methodist Family Health’s Residential Treatment Center before moving on to be an outpatient therapist in the Psychiatric Research Institute at UAMS.  While there, he worked with individuals, groups, and families with issues ranging from depression and anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, eating disorders, and personality disorders.  He has also been an addictions therapist at the Bradford Health/St. Vincent Addictions Treatment Program, as well as taught students full-time at UA Little Rock.

David wants to help clients become as happy and healthy and whole as possible. He likes to create a safe space by developing a compassionate and trustworthy partnership with clients. He uses an eclectic mixture of treatment methods, including cognitive behavioral, cognitive processing, rational emotive, dialectical behavior, interpersonal, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches to address clients’ concerns.  David works with adolescents and adults of all types but has a special focus on the LGBTQ community.
